We are slowly becoming much more aware of the impact our own footprint makes on this earth. How our everyday choices not only affect our own wellbeing; but also the environment and animals we share this earth with.
Many more people are making changes in their lifestyle to reduce the incidence of chronic disease. Sadly chronic diseases and behavioural issues are now also affecting our beloved pets greater than ever before. Pet owners are starting to question so called “traditional” pet care, health and training methods and where possible many are starting to move towards a more natural, holistic and ethical approach.
Buzzwords such as Grain free, Human Grade, Organic, Free Range, Raw, Positive Reinforcement, Clicker Training, Titre Testing, Over Vaccinating, Bark Collars, Citronella Collars, Head Halters circulating in the media it can be extremely confusing to know and understand if what you have chosen really is natural, holistic, ethical and truly kind for your pet!
When I discovered “The Complete Pet Company” I had already spent over 10 year’s pushing against veterinary and other professional recommendations on what I should feed my dog, how I should train my dog and when I should be vaccinating. It was extremely exhausting not only with the limited access available at the time but also having to explain myself and my reasons why; only knowing that some people likely considered me a bad pet parent for the choices I was trying to make.
“The Complete Pet Company” and “Complete Canine Communication” is a Brisbane, Queensland based business owned and operated by Jenny Golsby and her partner Graham. Jenny has dedicated her life to the health and care of dogs while educating people on all aspects of animal welfare by creating and manufacturing the best raw, organic, natural, free-range dog food on the market with a purely ethical stand against Factory Farming and is 100% horse meat free – “The Complete Meal”.
The “Complete Meal” is a raw frozen dog and cat food that does not contain any colourings, preservatives or flavourings.
The dog food range is available in Chicken, Goat, Kangaroo, Turkey & Beef:
– Meat Species (75%), Market Fresh Fruit and Vegetables, Chia Seeds, Honey, Organic Coconut Oil, Australian Hemp Oil Omega 3,6 & 9 and added nutritional supplements.

Jenny also holds certification in Advanced Canine Communication and is one of Australia’s leading Dog Listeners in animal behaviour. Dog Listening is not a “Training Method” and Jenny is NOT a dog trainer; she trains YOU to understand and communicate to your dog through the art of silent listening and silent observation.
When used calmly and consistently, your dog will learn to modify behaviour according to the information you have given. This is all done without the use of training, commands, clickers, correctional collars, force or bribery.
“Complete Canine Communication” run classes for dogs and puppies, 2 day workshops and 1-2-1 home consultations. Jenny is passionate in assisting rescue dogs to settle into their new homes and is more than willing to offer her guidance with a no obligation chat at any time.
In home Canine Communication Consultations:

The retail store (that also offers an online cart) is located in Keperra and has an extensive range including Homeopathy, Bush Flower Essences, DoTERRA Essential Oils, Herbs, Treats, Poultry and Small Animal Feed, Bedding and Harnesses to name just a few.
Jenny is also a strong supporter of Australian small business. Her “Complete Meal” packaging, marketing efforts and many of the products she has available are proudly Australian owned and made. So refreshing to see!
My Verdict:
If you are already feeding your dog or cat raw commercially produced food no doubt you will have one comment in common – The Smell. Yes raw food often comes with an “interesting” aroma. “The Complete Meal” does not have an offensive smell – not to me anyway! I have summed that up to honey and coconut oil in the ingredients. Amber and Indy have tried the entire range; turkey and beef are their favourites! I am also pleased to see that they cater for both small and large breed dogs; with even the raw frozen bones packaged accordingly.
The level of customer service that the team provide is outstanding; they are more than willing to go through the products available and answer every question thrown at them – and I ask a lot of questions. My friends and family are nodding their head in union!
The first time I popped into the retail store I brought Amber and Indy along to say ‘Hello’. Amber danced around Jenny’s feet begging for attention and Indy sat back in his usual manner. It is interesting to note that while chatting away, Jenny is still silently observing both dogs behaviour; pointing out her observations as she sees them. There I was observing Jenny while Jenny observed my dogs!
“The Complete Pet Company” and “Complete Canine Communication” genuinely represents everything Natural, Holistic and Ethical. I challenge you all to have a chat with any member of the team and not walk away feeling empowered to make a change. Their passion is inspiring. I personally have been motivated even further in making a greater conscious effort of my everyday choices. I hope you will join me too.
