Indy has had all of his vaccinations and now finally allowed to check out his new hood!
On the big day, Indy had no idea that this time he was not going to be left behind. Assuming it was a day just like every other day; he patiently watched Amber’s usual dressing table 4 point routine:
- Quick brush. Check
- Harness on. Check
- Lead clicked on. Check
- Rush to front door dragging lead behind. Check
And then it was Indy’s turn, his was more of a 10 point routine:
- Try to jump off dressing table. Check
- Quick brush. Check
- Run backwards away from harness. Check
- Pull leg out of harness. Check
- Harness on. Check
- Try again to jump off dressing table. Check
- Lead clicked on. Check
- Ohhhh this harness feels horrible and itchy. Check
- Do I look silly in it. Check
- Walk slowly to front door dragging lead behind. Check
Outside, Indy was cautious at first, choosing to just sit on the road and watch Amber walk away.
After some encouragement from Amber, he decided to check out what all the fuss was about with ‘Walkies’!
He did seem to take a lot of comfort and guidance from Amber’s calm behaviour throughout the entire walk.
Mimicking and following every single paw step that Amber made:
- You sniff that tree, I sniff that tree
- You investigate that post, I investigate that post
- You wag your tail at that dog, I wag my tail at that dog
- You sniff that dog, I sniff that dog
- You chase a bird, I chase a bird
With his little legs working overtime it was not long before Indy decided it was time to soak up the sun.
Amber loves walkies probably more than anything! So it goes without saying that before I even had time to trill out an encouraging ‘Come on Indy’, Amber was in his face as if to say ‘Come on mate times a wasting, chop chop!’
After a big walk around the lake it was time to head home!
